Indeed. If there was any justice in the world, or he had any shame, heโ€™d have disappeared from public life a decade ago.

Just when I think Iโ€™ve run out of reasons to say โ€˜fuck what Nick Clegg thinksโ€™, this comes along.

Youโ€™re not lazy, youโ€™re overwhelmed. Youโ€™re not antisocial, youโ€™re drained. Youโ€™re not broken, youโ€™re trying to survive in a system built to burn you out.

No problem, itโ€™s a decent episode, about an hour and twenty minutes. He clearly very thoughtful on his own process and it interest how he got where he is. Hope you enjoy it.

Afternoon Keith, am I remembering right; you like Liam Wongโ€™s photos?

If yes,Thereโ€™s a podcast episode heโ€™s on, thought you might be like it. Heโ€™s on *My Perfect Console*, itโ€™s video games themed but they talk about his photos a lot.

I had such high hopes for the series; thought we might final get something a bit more gritty. With Michelle Yeoh you would imagine they were guaranteed success.

Instead we gotโ€ฆ I dunno, whatโ€ฆ a movie trying for Mission Impossible but failing badly.

At least it was only 95 minutes long.

Even as a non-driver, the hand (parking) break thing annoys the living daylights out of me. Itโ€™s such a basic, how can they miss it?!

Thatโ€™s before we even start on the lack of seatbelts, most modern cars wonโ€™t stop with the warning noises until you buckle up.

Itโ€™s only worth something if he can convert the "value" into real money. From the little I understand of it,memecoins are cryptocurrency intentionally created to be at many times more stupid and risky than regular cryptocurrencyโ€ฆ for โ€˜bantz'.

๐Ÿ˜‚ probably just as well, having tried and failed to get into GTA: Chinatown Wars, which was as close as itโ€™s ever going to get. That probably a realistically good idea.

Kids today with their fancy three dimensional GTA. Will never understand the joy of running over a line of religious chanters in top-down view, Rockstar should make GTA6 top down only* then theyโ€™d learn something!

*please no, that would actually be awful.

Hate to say it, but itโ€™s my least favourite Star Trek.

It was a great idea, but for some reason it never clicked with me. I donโ€™t think overall thereโ€™s much wrong with it, itโ€™s just missingโ€ฆ โ€˜somethingโ€™.

For whatever reason, to me, the whole is not worth more than the sum of its parts.

Very true. Donkey Kong Country was particularly expensive because, IIRC, it had to have extra storage too due to the size of the game.

I went from a SNES to a PS1 in 1995 and my wallet thanked me for it.

17.01.2025 12:07 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yeah absolutely, you could buy games at many price points from so many places.

17.01.2025 11:58 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

If memory serves correctly some of my SNES cartridges were around ยฃ60. I think Donkey Kong country was mid 60s and that was 1994 tooโ€ฆ or around ยฃ130 now.

I think that time and brain space was definitely my issue. I used to read at bedtime, now Iโ€™m just too worn out to focus.

I was kind of struggling with my kindle in low light though as it was an older model and didnโ€™t even have a back-light let alone dark mode. New one is nice but expensive.

17.01.2025 09:59 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I feel that. Didnโ€™t read anything post August holiday last year. It got hard to find time to fit it in. My backlog now sits at (a relative low) 38 books. But Iโ€™ve read three since Christmas, which is good.

I even stupidly splashed out on a new bigger screen kindle, which has helped a bit too.

It is, itโ€™s very true to the book. In my opinion probably the best PKD adaptation out there by a country mile.

Keane Reeves suited his role and the rest of the cast was really good in there roles, that movie is probably the exception that proves the rule.

16.01.2025 16:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

As many adaptations as there have been of Phillip K. Dick stories and novels, I never feel any of them properly reflect the essence of a PKD story.

Which for me is largely summed up as โ€˜WTF is going onโ€™.

A small case of Lego building blocks sitting on some unrolled wrapping paper sitting on a green cutting mat. Also on the cutting mat can be seen a scalpel and a metal wallpaper cutting ruler.
