These headlines are designed to cultivate rage, hostility, and anxiety towards trans people (while misrepresenting the British government as “pro-trans”). The media are manufacturing panics about trans existence and visibility, much like what they used to do about gay people. It’s recycled bigotry.

“The court has also made clear that it will likely be discriminatory to force trans people to use facilities based on their sex recorded at birth. In short, the law does not require a bathroom ban.”

But it’s worrying that the court believes segregating trans people in a “third space” is acceptable.

For years, the right to protest has been under sustained and deliberate attack.

Thousands of people have been arrested for something that should have never been a crime.

Excellent news. The British government’s continued attacks on the right to protest, especially on those who speak out against genocide, must be challenged.

“It also stresses the need for caution on social transitioning for younger children…”

The idea that schools need to be “cautious” when affirming the identities of young trans people reinforces the transphobic belief that being trans (like being gay) is a “phase” or “dangerous lifestyle.” Shameful.

The NSW government will talk about the importance of maintaining “social cohesion” while perpetrating violence against citizens who seek to exercise their right to protest. This is horrific.

“The book encourages parents to put children in anti-affirmation medical and educational spaces, and to cut off loved ones who support their child's transition.”

Writing about trans youth as a product of “ideology” is dehumanising. This is the language of conversion practices. It’s child abuse.

Council of Europe Assembly backs ban on conversion practices | ILGA-Europe The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has adopted a landmark resolution calling on states to ban conversion practices.

“The Assembly has now called on member states to act swiftly, arguing that ending conversion practices requires not only legal bans, but sustained political will, properly funded services for survivors, and public education to prevent further harm.”

This is welcome news from Europe. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
