To be clear, the streak started the day after Frosty's, so it hasn't gone for that long, but it did prove to me that it isn't that hard to keep it up if I really wanted to.

Yesterday, I broke my streak of playing a fighting game every day because I was just too physically exhausted to do anything after I got home from work.

I will try to fit something in tonight, because I feel like I'm gradually improving mechanically and want to keep up the momentum.

I was starting to think I was being harsh for not playing 2XKO out of principle because of Riot being a terrible company, like I was blowing it out of proportion.

It's safe to say I no longer feel that trepidation. Boy I hate being proven right sometimes...

Since I've been trying to play a fighting game every day, I decided to break out the stick.

I realize that most things are easier for me on stick, but I have two big issues: double-tap dashing and accidental jumping. Also the lack of extra buttons is noticable.

Maybe just need to work on it?

Wasn't feeling it yesterday, but I still managed to keep the "fighting game a day" streak alive by trying stuff out in ST and Vampire Savior.

Gotta untie that mental knot somehow.

Kirby's Avalanche literally exists.

I'm also making the effort to play a fighting game every day at least a little bit. I feel like I need to get over the mental block I've had for a while now.

I may even learn KenJu!

After taking a day off to recover, I'm finally able to say: Frosty Faustings was a good time. Saw some great matches, did my first Mystery tournament, supported some fantastic artists.

Looking forward to next year, and to Combo Breaker, of course.

List of games played during FF 2026

5-2 in Mystery at Frosty Faustings 2026. Lost first round, won five in a row. Small Arms and KenJu were kinda fun. Arkanoid was total stress. Cooked in Kirby's Avalanche. Almost made it out of pools on my first try!

Had a great time, can't wait to try again at CB.

Competing in my first Mystery tournament tomorrow at Frosty Faustings.

If I'm lucky, every round will be Dr. Mario or a clone of Dr. Mario.

I beat the main story of Windswept a few weeks ago and have been playing the postgame levels on and off since, and man, why are there SO many postgame levels????

I mean, they're fun and challenging, but it has to end at some point, right???

I got a much-needed and long overdue haircut over the weekend, but now I miss the feeling of my hair bouncing whenever I bop my head to music.

If only my hair weren't so scraggly and hard to maintain when it gets long...

Went back to Windswept after several weeks, and FINALLY beat that stupid Laamp level with the buzzsaws and conveyor belt. It's soooo freaking long and there are no checkpoints.

The Laamp level after that was comparatively easy.

Glad I came back to this game, it's a lot of fun.

I haven't streamed in a bit because lately it's been difficult to sit down and play a video game. Not gonna lie, it's been a struggle to find joy in much these days.

Adef said it best during his Pokemon Emerald run (slightly paraphrasing).

"All are welcome at GDQ. And if that doesn't jive with your world view, maybe you should go get educated."

I don't regret getting a Switch 2 (after all, Air Riders and Bananza are fantastic), but it's worth noting my most played game on it in 2025 was Octopath Traveler II.

I know it's a few years old at this point, but the fucking Game Grumps/Sbassbear Lipitor song has been swimming in my head for weeks.

I think for the time being I'll focus my fighting game activities on stuff that isn't Granblue. At least until CyGames gets their head out of their ass.

At least it gives me more of a reason to play UNI2.

Why are the worst people in the world in charge of everything???
