So glad to finally see this wonderful Tom and Jerry short restored! And finally having all 114 original Tom and Jerry shorts in one set complete and uncut (as it should be). Let me know if you are planning on buying the set! Clip is from The Zoot Cat (1944)

Discussing Physical Media Releases! YouTube video by Anthony's Animation Talk

Just a heads up that there will be a new stream in a few days. The one I did recently was more of a test but both Manny @thetooneytenor.bsky.social and I are going to get serious with streaming more often on various animation topics.

Here is a scene from a short was wasn’t composed by Carl Stalling but by Eugene Poddany who was covering for Stalling when he was recovering from an injury. He does a decent job here! From Room and Bird (1951)

It’ll be back in stock BUT still - this is a really GOOD thing to show the ‘bean counters’ that this is what we want!

While this isn’t the first Hubie and Bertie short it’s the first one featuring their final design (taken from the mice featured in Trap Happy Porky from 1945) and it’s the first featuring Stan Freberg who would go on to do many voices at the studio for about a decade or so!

This bit of animation is from Russian Rhapsody (1944) and it is a tour de force for animator Bob McKimson (who would begin directing a few short years later). Mel Blanc’s delivery kills me every time I hear it here as well. Directed by Bob Clampett.

New review now live on the channel! Heaven Scent (1956) is another Pepe le Pew short that was not only directed by Chuck Jones but it was also written by him too! It’s your ‘typical’ Pepe short but there’s some nice gags in there including one of my favourites which is ‘Le Echo Pointe’

It’s a clip with a gag reused from A Fractured Leghorn (1950) and while that was directed by Bob McKimson they both share the same writer - Warren Foster! From Sandy Claws (1955)

One of my favourite ‘minor’ characters that Mel Blanc ever voiced! I just love the glee that comes out of his voice here! From Satan’s Waitin’ (1954) by Friz Freleng

Working on the history video for Wholly Smoke (1938) today! This is the final Porky Pig that director Frank Tashlin did during his first directing stint making the Warner shorts.
He makes more later when he starts directing again in 1943 starting with Porky Pig's Feat.

‘Baby Face’ is a song used countless times in Looney Tunes and has also been covered by many musicians over the many decades since the song’s debut in 1926. Here we hear it sung by Pepe Le Pew impersonating Maurice Chevalier! From Scent-Imental Romeo (1951)

One of the finest WWII shorts ever made and one of Frank Tashlin’s best shorts as well! Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall seeing Mel Blanc’s recording session for this. Plus the ending cue when we see ‘you know who’ is perfect. From Scrap Happy Daffy (1943)

Scrambles Aches (1957) and similar shorts like this were made real fast which allowed Chuck Jones to put more time into certain other shorts auch as Whatma Opera Doc (1957) which was released around this time! And despite being made quickly they are still some of the best shorts ever made.

While this is a ‘cheater’ short (reusing scenes and bits from older shorts) at least it’s entertaining enough especially in this bit which is one of the few newly animated bits for this! From Trip for Tat (1960)

Sure there are repeated gags and ideas from earlier shorts but honestly these weren't 'binge watched' back when released for theatres (these were not made for TV) but it's still a fun watch

New video now on the channel!
This one is for Tweet and Sour (1956) which is a decent one that has Sylvester reluctantly having to save Tweety from the 'eyepatch cat' - though naturally it's for self preservation 🤣

Here is the final released Looney Tunes short from the original studio before the shorts were outsourced from Depatie-Freleng Studios! It’s an interesting take on the Cinderella story that’s for sure 😂 From Senorella and the Glass Huarache (1964) #looneytunes #frizfreleng #warnerbros

Director Jack King made some weird Porky Pig shorts and this is one of them! Though I like this scene - due to how strange it is! Let me know if you’ve seen this one! From Shanghaied Shipmates (1936)

Frank Tashlin made some masterpieces over the years but there are a few that some may not even realise he made: Like this one!
I actually forgot all about it if I am being honest but the review video is now live on the channel! It's not his best but there is some interesting things in it.
