In a new Gallup poll in the US, 12.4% of adults said that they'd taken GLP-1 drugs for weight loss.

15% in women, and 9% in men.

I'd have guessed half as much, but I guess I'm a year behind the times.

I’m thankful to the San Jose city council for approving this contract for Caltrans to pay the city to help address encampments on state rights-of-way in the city.

With both state and local leaders rolling up our sleeves, we can make sure no Californian is left behind.

The largest war ship in the world has been moved to the Caribbean, along with other ships, bombers, amphibious vehicles and more.

That’s a lot of firepower to stop small vessels carrying drugs.

It looks a lot more like preparation for war.

Congress needs to get involved before it’s too late.

An estimated 15.7 million workers use SNAP. It’s a lifeline for those in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

A horizontal bar chart titled “WelcomePAC Funding Sources” showing $11.29M in total funding from FEC data. The largest share comes from “Billionaires & Heirs” at $6.01M, represented by a long purple bar. Next is “Hedge Funds/VC/Private Equity” at $2.50M, also in purple. “Corporate Executives” show $0.30M and “Corporate Entity” $0.25M, each with very small purple bars. “Americans Together” is listed at $1.02M with an orange bar, and “Other” is $1.22M with a gray bar. The graphic emphasizes that most funding—over half—comes from billionaires and heirs, with additional significant contributions from finance and private equity. Source: Federal Election Commission.

It’s a sign of the times that the people who funded the WelcomePAC report that’s telling Democrats they are “out of touch” with ordinary Americans are mostly billionaires, hedge fund managers, VCs, and corporate execs.

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

Amazon just announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Obviously California has issues but this defense of their policies by Newsom is worth watching.

TN is a low tax state - for the top. regressive for the bottom. our services and laws punish working people also (bottom in infant & maternal mortality, poverty, school spending, violent crime, etc..)

Catastrophic Hurricane Melissa hits Jamaica as the strongest landfalling Atlantic hurricane on record » Yale Climate Connections At landfall in western Jamaica, Melissa’s 185 mph winds and 892 mb pressure tied with the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935 in the Florida Keys as the strongest on record for the Atlantic.

Not since 1935 has anyone experienced a storm like Melissa. Melissa's record wouldn't have happened without climate change, which made the hurricane's winds about 10 mph stronger, according to a rapid attribution analysis by Climate Central. yaleclimateconnections.org/2025/10/cata...
