After working for three years on tax reform, choosing just one big idea is like choosing your favourite child.

But one idea I want to see on the agenda is a dual-income system of tax – a system that taxes labour and capital income on separate schedules.

AUKUS won't work without wider community interrogation and engagement, and a parliamentary inquiry is the first step to building that.
We also need a more open discussion of the challenges facing AUKUS.

AUKUS will shape Australia's future for decades with enormous implications financially, economically, and strategically, but in discussions at the community level, there are consistent questions and concerns that have not been addressed.

Independents MPs and senators have written to the government calling for greater parliamentary oversight of AUKUS.

AUKUS is the centrepiece of our defence and foreign policy strategy, but it's been adopted by the major parties with very poor public engagement.

I reiterate my calls for the resumption of a ceasefire, for Hamas to immediately release all the hostages, and for all parties to work towards a two-state solution.

This is the only pathway to peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is dire. It is unacceptable that civilians in desperate need do not have access to food and medical supplies.

The Israeli government must urgently allow full and unimpeded resumption of aid into Gaza, and Hamas must not interfere.

Last year I sat on a Parliamentary Economics Committee inquiry into the insurance response to the 2022 floods.
We need to see an urgent response and action on the 86 recommendations as soon as possible to protect communities from future disaster impacts.

The NSW floods have been devastating with an estimated 10,000 homes affected.
Government support is welcome but as climate change drives more frequent disasters, we need to address the insurance issues that let down communities in recent disasters.

Calling our national broadcaster “hate media” is not a joke. Trusted media like the ABC play a vital role in our democracy and our society.

We don’t need Trump-style culture wars here in Australia.

I am concerned the Electoral Commission has identified the person responsible for the 47,000 illegal pamphlets but will not tell the public who it is, or whether they will be prosecuted.
I have written to the AEC asking for an explanation.
The public has the right to know.

All political parties and candidates in Wentworth should call this behaviour out and provide any information they have to the AEC.
This attack is exactly the opposite of the positive campaign I am running.
These negative smear campaigns turn people off politics, and rightly so.

My team and I will be cooperating fully with the AEC investigation.
I encourage people in Wentworth to alert the AEC if they identify people distributing this illegal material.

I have faith that the AEC will get to the bottom of this.
The public deserves to know who is behind this cowardly attack and what their motivations are.
This transparency needs to be provided urgently, because Australians will begin casting their ballots tomorrow.

These campaigns are clearly designed to ensure a win for the Liberal Party in Wentworth.

I welcome today’s announcement that the Australian Electoral Commission are taking action against 47,000 illegal pamphlets being distributed in Wentworth.
This pamphlet spreads false, misleading, and offensive claims about me – and does so anonymously.

Yet another report out today showing Peter Dutton’s taxpayer-funded nuclear reactor plan is a massive risk to energy security.
It means relying on ageing & unreliable coal for longer, putting electricity supply at risk & creating an extra 2 billion tonnes of climate pollution.
