OK on your iPhone (grey & white) you can turn on "emergency alerts" and it will send NWS alerts. Turn off public safety alerts to skip blue alerts (in TX). The beige one is Android alert options.

Our hurricane defenses are down, and it's only a matter of time before we take an uppercut to the chin.

the YT algo requires graphics like that or your engagement dies essentially. The entire goal is to get the info out. If the SPC uses colored graphs to indicate an outlook and they essentially just repurpose them, idk how that’s clickbait. In an age where local mets are going away/NWS is at threat ..

if I wasn’t relocating out of state next month, given your comment, I’d probably have the motivation to do so. This is why I think it’s bad: siren for tsvr, no threat. Line matures and goes tornadic (albeit to my north) and then siren for tor warn an hour later

Dunno where this is going but my local example wasn’t being covered on YT. Just as a weather enthusiast for over 30yr, I’m not on board with sirens for non tornado sitch especially if the hail/wind threat is low. That’s how we get people ignoring sirens for when things are really bad.

That’s fair, I used to be quite turned off from this segment but in the last 24mo, have watched Max a lot and I don’t think I’ve ever seen outright criticism beyond ‘this should be a PDS/should be tor warned’ Tells viewers to heed NWS warnings, stay in shelter, watch local mets.
