"If the U.S. can't get its greenhouse emissions under control, they need to face real consequences" said the rest of the world.

I hope the next president pulls up the concrete and turns this hideous mess into a non-grass-lawn pollinator garden or a community garden.

"They paved paradise and put up a parking lot..." Gawd, it is the worst of every cliche.

Thanks to all who have reached out today... deeply appreciate it!

And if you able, share with friends and donate to our campaign. Every little bit helps... no matter how small.

As I heard @hcrichardson.bsky.social say on a podcast with @profgalloway.com:

"I'm not ready to give up on America."

Meteorologist Sean Sublette Announces Campaign for Democratic Nomination to Take on the Abysmal Rep. Rob Wittman (R) in VA01 Another Democrat - meteorologist Sean Sublette - is announcing his candidacy for the nomination in VA01 to take on the abysmal Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA01). Sublette joins a crowded field, including Sala...

I'm delighted my colleague & friend, meteorologist @subletteweather.com, is running for Congress in VA01. He's a smart, dedicated, no-nonsense guy who's a builder, not a breaker. Like our colleague Rep. @ericsorensen.bsky.social, he will bring common sense & scientific evidence back to Congress.

YouTube video by Sean Sublette Sean Sublette - Meteorologist for Congress: Welcome to Virginia

This is an unprecedented time in our nation's history.

Conspiracies, lies, and gaslighting are running amok.

We need more scientists in Congress.

I was born and raised here, and I am running to represent all Virginians from Chesterfield County to the Chesapeake Bay.

The White House has instructed NASA to terminate two major, climate change-focused satellite missions. They've been collecting widely-used data, providing both oil and gas companies and farmers with detailed information about the distribution of carbon dioxide and how it can affect crop health.

DOE climate report response form We are collecting names to assemble a writing team to respond to the DOE climate working group report. If you'd like to contribute, enter your info below. At this point, there is no guarantee what we'll do (if anything), but we want to keep our options open by collecting names. If you have any further questions, feel free to email me. We are primarily looking for Ph.D. scientists at universities or government labs in appropriate fields. I realize that this will exclude some qualified people and I apologize, but we felt this was necessary for a variety of reasons.

🚨 If you're interested in working on a coordinated response to the DOE climate report, please enter your info on this google form 🚨

Please RT this so as many people see it as possible.

How wind and solar power helps keep America’s farms alive Rural counties also benefit in jobs, manufacturing and tax revenue that will be hard to replace as the US government slashes support for the industries.

Nationwide in the USA, wind and solar projects contribute about $3.5 billion annually in combined lease payments and state and local taxes with more than a third of it going directly to rural landowners providing them with a secure source of income. #EnergySky

Mine is "Fundamentals of Interpretive Reading" (for gen ed speech credit), through the theater department, where we learned to memorize works and read/recite them with meaning in our voices. Been helpful with teaching, presenting, and even reading to my kid. 😊

For a long time, I underestimated how much climate change comes from agriculture and land use, in part because (by EPA reckoning) they're only about 10% of US annual emissions. Globally, though, food and land use are at least 19% of annual net emissions, and possibly more depending on accounting.

It took more than 72 hours after the flooding for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to authorize the deployment of FEMA’s search and rescue network.

I think this is obvious but I just want to highlight it in case it isn’t.

Taking 72 hours for Noem to personally approve search and rescue teams can be a literal death sentence.

Without weather forecasters, our canaries in the storm, expect disaster This purge isn’t β€œcutting waste,” it’s dismantling America’s hurricane monitoring systems.

"The private sector cannot fill this void. The National Weather Service processes over 6 billion observations daily and issues approximately 1.5 million forecasts and 50,000 warnings annually.

No private entity possesses infrastructure that can match this scale and reliability."
