16.04.2025 14:21 — 👍 39 🔁 15 💬 2 📌 2Snippet from the Independent saying Baroness Kishwer Falkner, chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission, said the Supreme Court ruling means trans women should no longer be using women’s bathrooms or changing rooms. “It means single sex services, like changing rooms, must be based on biological sex. If a male person is allowed to use a women only service or facility, it isn’t any longer single sex, then it becomes a mixed sex space”, she told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. “But I have to say, there’s no law that forces organisations to provide a single sex space, and there is no law against them providing a third space, an additional space, such as unisex toilets, for example.” Asked how she would respond to trans people who are worried about not being able to use any public loos or changing rooms as a result of the ruling, she said: “There isn’t any law saying that you cannot use a neutral third space, and they should be using their powers of advocacy to ask for those third spaces.”
I see that the Labour re-appointee for the EHRC chair is insisting trans people use mythical, segregated third spaces as a way of existing in society
Not sure she understands the "Human Rights" part of the name. But tbf the supreme court didn't either
If you’re doing the “trans men in women’s toilets” gotcha, 1) you’re making what was always a crap argument 2) you’re revealing that you haven’t read the UK Supreme Court judgment because it says trans men aren’t allowed in women’s spaces (because we look like men) OR men’s spaces
17.04.2025 07:53 — 👍 1950 🔁 558 💬 23 📌 33🧵It has nothing to do with sex. This ruling has nothing to do with women's safety, it is to do with the accepted impression of what a woman is. It will embolden people to attack women regardless of their biological sex if they don't fit in. Attacks on ALL women will increase, trans or cis.

Once you've watched it, get onto Maintenance Phase (podcast) because this is a rabbit hole you need.
Why thank you

Finished a linen, fully lined dress, the orange was from the local scrap store, the purple from @sewmuchmoor (a little while ago now!).

I should only have to VPN for nefarious reasons.
Text is a screen capture from TFL saying: Station locations Our station location feed is a geo-coded KML feed of most London Underground, DLR, Elizabeth line and London Overground stations. How often we publish a fresh copy of the feed 1440 mins Maximum time allowed between capturing and displaying the feed 10 mins Maximum time information can be displayed before being updated 4320 mins
I would argue that refreshing the London Underground Station Locations every day is excessive. I mean. My suspicion is that stations don't tend to move. And. If they *do* - getting it in a feed is probably the least of your problems.
