I disagre. I have noticed some folks hide their hate of 'AI' behind the current reasonable arguments, but if you remove those you start to see the naked bigotry left hiding behind it.

There are extremists in both sides.

It is a use of it. A more noticeable common example, this seemingly allowed for more degrading language to be used.

Thats generally how dehumanizing language works, it evolves as its slowly normalized.

"Clanker" is a big one. This became popularized because of Helldivers 2 with the automaton faction, which are socialist robots.

I was on the recieving end of the anti AI hostility cause I dared to utter the heretical phrase "I think the tool (AI) has uses."

If AI instead assists and jot replaces, a lot of the anti AI arguments go away, what yoy are left with are largely folks who either act phobicly towards AI or are infatuated with it thinking its sentient.

I have noticed some folks who take to the extremes on both sides.

My issues with AI is with how its currently being applied, and the fact we call it 'AI' cause its not AI, at best its VI. I can see some possible uses for it in day to day life outside the issues folks have with it replacing folks.

tbc im fine with this argument. i also quibble a bit with the possibility of anything about the computer or people with a weird relationship with it having a slur at all, since slurs come with the power of reinforcing a repressive hierarchical system

The entire point of fascism is to kill their oppsition to secure their own 'right' to rule. They seek to do this by ANY means necessary, even institutionalized violence.

Fascism cannot be reasoned with. Its not a rational political position in the firstplace. Its the ideology of murderous madmen.

Depending on how we are defining sentience. Yes. Its morally wrong in general to OWN another sentient creature. AI is not sentient. Its just very good at mimicking sentience, a byproduct of the human hands that created it, AI is not actually AI. Its more accurate to call it VI (Virtual Intelligence)
