IMHO building energy models are based on building science, which is the physics of heat transfer into and out of the building interior. This includes materials science that characterizes building materials. The model itself isn't science per se, but any modeling software needs to be ground truthed.

I would ask, who is responsible for the deployment/retrofit of the price responsive BTM systems? How does that get paid for? Also the utilities are going to have to be able to bill on an hourly (or less) basis based on a varying cost. That's a pretty major upgrade to utility billing systems.

I think the solution here is that the bid strategy has to be related to the "price vs comfort" setting the user makes. You can't expect people to interact directly with prices.

I wonder why there wasn't more pressure from congress to do a cost benefit analysis of the ICE/anti-inmigration spending. IOW what is the monetary effect on the economy of the ICE spending? Does it outweigh the costs to the American taxpayer?
