I think, in this case, a lot of people don't want to believe he did it because he is married to Melissa Gilbert. She is standing by him. Not that that means anything. As a survivor, I will always believe someone who has enough courage to bring charges against their abuser.

My Welsh ancestors have shown me this time and time again. It hurts my soul that this snowy weather has kept me inside for a week.

the author writes something that I have thought but didn't have the courage to say out loud. I can use my imagination for everything else but my heart needs to be engaged as well. Anything I read needs to push me forward in the never-ending work of discovering who I am.

For me the staging of events, etc. are important, but if I can not relate to the main "character" I will lose interest. Just one sliver of something that I may not have experienced personally, but I can see how it could have happened, or something similar happened to a friend or ...

I don't know that it has to compelling or extraordinary because some of us read about others hoping to find that "connection", that one line that makes us say, "That's me". I read recently about the backlash some "influencers" are facing because they are no longer relatable. That is the key.

The act of writing alone helps process your experiences. No need to share unless you want to help people and that means writing FOR them, not TO them.

Not all biographies are centered upon exceptional people and/or circumstances etc. Some people just think they are exceptional and pay to have their biography published. Anyone can write about their experiences to help them understand themselves but should write in a way that connects with others.

That was exactly my immediate response.
