A gallery of flying swans featuring both tundra and trumpeter swans demonstrating how difficult they are to ID.
Aproposal to open a π¨π¦ hunting season on Tundra Swans-they look, mingle with look-alike Trumpeter Swans (special concern). Swans are very difficult to ID in flight & trumpeters will be killed -reversing conservation successes.

Great-horned Owlets like these, do leave the nest before they seem ready. While they generally are not able to fly, they can often fall to the forest floor and use 'leaner' trees to get off the ground. Parent still find and feed them.
Siblicide & asynchronous size of owlets might explain it.

I want to preserve the beauty & integrity of our night skies. Focusing mainly on raising awareness about the effects of light pollution, not only on astronomy but also on wildlife, human health & energy waste. - Dr Chris Spencer (aka @PixelatedDad)
Emissions, fossils fuels & deforestation are symptoms - not causes like overpopulation, cows & cars. That we discuss symptoms only is a feature and not a bug.
Mitigation & adaptation are the same:
- Birth control
- Plant based
- Local
- Low tech
