🧵Yesterday, I received notice that my #NIH grant, on the social environment, lifecourse, epigenetics & #birthoutcomes in Black families, was terminated. This grant represented a critical effort to address the ⬆️ rates of maternal & infant mortality in the US, particularly among Black mothers & babies

Indirect Costs at NIH . . . I wasn’t planning on spending part of a Saturday writing about cost accounting principles and the like, but NIH-world was hit with a doozy of a policy announcement on Friday night:

The best thing about teaching is learning. I love revisiting the literature in an area and realizing there is something new and interesting or even something old that I missed or overlooked. Teaching is an excellent way to make sure that you spend your whole life learning.
