At some places the role names are swapped between producer and product manager so it is definitely good to check about the roles of both at a given company.

Another way of thinking about Jira update reminders: Just like you might be blocked waiting on an asset or code, a producer can be blocked on their work if they don’t have task estimates or completion velocity data.

You will absolutely feel the difference if you lose a producer for an extended period of time, or they are stretched too thin.

Fundamentally, at most places, producers are the ones making sure a project can close predictably, and that teams aren’t blocked by dependencies during development. For individual devs, this can be almost invisible, except that much of this work is data driven, which depends on good jira hygiene.

In keeping with the general themes of our marriage, yesterday Shawna and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary by walking about 14 miles of coastline. I feel so so so incredibly lucky to be married to such an incredible partner in adventure!

There’s a live action Netflix show that is pretty good and covers the 1st 40 episodes or so in 8 eps. Season 2 of that comes out pretty soon.

Our cat Gabby jumped up on the couch, unexpectedly landed by glasses that shifted, and panicked. She leapt partially over my head and I nearly lost an eye. As it is I’ve got a cool face battle wound like a CRPG character that will hopefully heal up cleanly.

But it’s also really cute, funny, and is about the power of friendship, following your dreams, and fighting against fascism.

I always hesitate recommending it, because it starts getting really good around episode 23, which is a lot to ask someone.

Some violence, not super gory mostly cartoony (a red slash across someone, a mentor looses his arm but it isn’t shown directly, scratches or major cuts, people are stabbed a few times (not super bloody), blood coughed up after being punched.

Women get more scantily clad over time.
