That's true, although in my experience most RTTY QSOs were (and still are) heavily dependent on the macros. Each to their own, I suppose.

Or how it's too easy to get licensed today, as opposed to during Queen Victoria's reign (or some such, depending on poster's age) when "real" hams had to work "really hard" to get "real" licenses.

Finally, I got to read this month's #rsgb RadCom, and what can I say... It's 2025, and they still publish letters to the editor from some who argue how only their favourite pastime is "real hamradio" and nothing else is 🙄 They surely know how to attract youth to #hamradio

I don't know if this is a result of some new manufacturing process, or maybe I was just unlucky enough to get a faulty one. Now I am mulling over how to fix it. Maybe I'll try crimping the rod to the inset (the rod diameter is similar to that of an RG58 cable, for which I've got a crimper). 8/9

I was having intermittent issues because I was having an intermittent contact. On my old #arrowantenna, which served me well for a number of years, I can see the pressure points on the rod, starting about 1/2 inset length, whereas on my new one I can't. 7/9
