We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state’s military troops.

The brave men and women who serve in our national guards must not be used as political props. This is a moment where every American must speak up and help stop this madness.

If I end up with a share of those titles I didnt write, I can always cut a check to the author. Or maybe I can just stay out of it and the author will get their full share.

I’m wondering the subject of illustrators. If you search for me, books I illustrated—but did not write—come up. I don’t think I deserve settlement money from those titles. But as a rights holder, do I need to file a claim alongside the author just to make sure this atm pays out as it’s supposed to?

Today we read School’s First Day of School written by @adamrex.bsky.social with pictures by Christian Robinson. It was a great intro to a collective research project about our school’s history including who has been on this land before us—now with a side quest to learn about Frederick Douglass.
