What could go wrong using AI to help stage a few listing photos?

It is absolutely a choice.

The same generation of kids whose lives were upended & whose educations were fucked with COVID are the same kids whose lives are being upended & whose educations are being fucked by radical right-wing "health" stuff like this. This generation of kids is one being harmed more than we can imagine.

To me the chatbots pose zero interesting questions about the ‘nature of selfhood’ but dozens about the nature of manipulation. Here the Claude team pretends they are programming the robot for ethical responses but they land on one that is false and disingenuous.

*I don't have the whole play memorized, but a lot of the first act and some of the other most-quoted moments which are usually the ones to be abridged in movies and TV.

I liked the film version of "Hamnet" but one of my annoying quirks is that if someone abridges a scene* from Hamlet I have to correctly recite the whole thing in my head before I can move on and pay attention again.

Also, chatbots should be regulated as medical devices. If they’re not fit for purpose, they should be removed from the market.
Unless our government simply doesn’t care about actually doing their job. Which increasingly seems to be the case.

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

This is the ur-grift: it’s not the get-rich-quick scheme that makes you rich, it’s teaching other people how to sell it to someone else.

I can think of other people whose success is arbitrary.

Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams
