Growing up, the Twits was 1 of my fave stories, so I was excited to see it get an animated adaption. And then I watched it 😬 they declawed them, made to do sensitivity training 🫩 while Netflix didn't massacre it quite as bad like Custer did to the Sioux, yeesh! Good ol reliable Seagal though. 🐒🎡🪱🍝

Happy Nemesis-vember to those that celebrate (that'd be just me, I guess) work has been XL 'welcome to the suck' & i've been MIA here, taking some time off now for a few days to play old video games, eat good food, drink a lot of ☕️ and watch as many dumb movies as I can. I can't say I knew St Augustine personally, but I agree with what he's saying; over the past 3 years i've travelled more on my own & loved it more than I ever did in former friend groups. Don't think i'll ever tire of café hopping w/my journal, visiting museums by myself or thrifting in new places 🚇

I hope this makes it into your autobiography and that I get to be there for your dramatic reading of it.

If I had a nickel for every horror movie I watched this October, where a supernatural entity that's only visible to the protagonist, distorts their realities and does messed up things to faces. I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but weird it happened twice! The movies being The Rake & Smile obv

If you're looking for something to satisfy those spooky vibes but a little outside the box, i'd heartily endorse The Town Without Halloween, I love the creature effects, the myriad Halloween decor, synthy soundtrack & likable cast. I found it fun and charming despite its low budget indie nature 🎃🏚🧟🍂

One of SKX's torture devices within the remains of the Trenton district bowling alley, it looks like a modified work bench, with blades, barbed wire, restraints & various other ways to inflict pain. Both the crude device & the nearby tiled floor are stained by recent... experiments.

"Oro, Remendium, Unus!" Ah what better start to my week off than with Spooky Game Completion #2 with Condemned 2! A different beast than the 1st game but still a blast! It's grimy, grim & gruesome as you explore derelict hotels & the burning doll factory & hit museum theives with medieval weapons 🔎📻

Billy Drago as the villain 'Preacher' in Children of the Corn: Genesis. He wears a stained vest with suspenders & leans against a wall with assorted religous iconography on it. There is definitely something 'off' about him, he seems awfully secretive & creepy.

Alex Kubik (right) as convict 'Face' has a staredown with deputy Billy Williams in an old mineshaft, he wears a prison uniform, has slicked back hair & a distinctive purple birth mark adorns one side of his face. His body language exudes oily arrogance.

Sometimes all it takes is a singular compelling performance to hold your attention until the good stuff happens & elevates what would ordinarily be a mediocre film to a good one. Case in point: Billy Drago as 'Preacher' in COTC: Genesis and Alex Kubik as slimy ex-con 'Face' in Trapped Alive. 🌽⛪️🪓🚔

I hadn't watched House with a Clock in Its Walls since its theatrical release, but I was looking to change it up, after watching Monsterville for the past few 🎃 seasons. So glad I did! Jack Black & Cate Blanchett are a fab duo. Kyle MaCachlan is GREAT as Izard. A fun, surprisingly dark adventure!🏚🕰🧱

I am having such a nice time just going at my own pace this 🎃 season, not worrying about how many horror movies I watch but enjoying the ones I do, not stressing if i'm not able to get to certain activities, but revelling in those I can. I *have* beaten my previous record of Autunnal beverages tho 😂

And my but 🎃 season is rattling by 😵‍💫 but that's OK, I spent this past weekend running from an angry 🐻 in Condemned 2, swamp-bat monster comics & revisiting old fave horrors with haunted mirrors & Jason's vacation! I won't beat last years record but fun trying!

I imagine that in a few months - years all of these will be rotting in a landfill somewhere after the target audience has grown bored of it & moved onto the next fad that their fave influencer or Tiktok brainrot their attention spans latch onto. Ppl wilk stumble upon them in a Goodwill & be like wtf

It's been quite a while since I last watched JTM, but i'm super glad I chose to revisit it. Love this movie; fun soundtrack, the dual settings of the Lazarus during the storm/grimy New York, some likable characters. Jason shows some great creativity in his kills & even a sense of humor at times! 🚢🌃
