10.11.2025 04:37 โ ๐ 68 ๐ 14 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Fight donโt fold.

#MedicareForAllNOW
In case you're wondering how this will impact people with disabilities...Mercy and I pay $1600 per month for our health insurance BEFORE any increases and it *still* doesn't cover all of my Crohn's meds and procedures.
10.11.2025 04:38 โ ๐ 88 ๐ 18 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0the minute flights got canceled, Dems folded like a house of cards, leaving me to wonder why the fuck this post made some of you so angry
10.11.2025 03:41 โ ๐ 1234 ๐ 253 ๐ฌ 5 ๐ 5How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.
10.11.2025 02:31 โ ๐ 5905 ๐ 1863 ๐ฌ 107 ๐ 96Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didnโt like waiting in line at the airport.
10.11.2025 01:17 โ ๐ 6646 ๐ 2026 ๐ฌ 5 ๐ 43I have known, liked, and voted for Tim Kaine since he was mayor of Richmond. I am done with him and will vote for Warnerโs primary challenger next year, and Kaineโs in 2030.
10.11.2025 03:06 โ ๐ 27 ๐ 5 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1#KaineCaves why canโt we (Dems) keep up the momentum from Tuesday. Such a frustrating let down
10.11.2025 03:10 โ ๐ 42 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0If the rest donโt oust Schumer immediately, then the entire U.S. Senate sold us out. They think weโre stupid. Itโs insulting.
10.11.2025 03:43 โ ๐ 1224 ๐ 314 ๐ฌ 19 ๐ 10They caved in March so they could get a better deal now. Theyโre caving now so they can get a better deal in some indeterminate future. The better deal is always just beyond their reach, but continuing to cave will get them there. And if you donโt agree with that, you donโt understand Politics,
10.11.2025 02:44 โ ๐ 5450 ๐ 1313 ๐ฌ 94 ๐ 49Senate Democrats voting to dismantle the ACA to avoid any problems with their Thanksgiving travel is tragically on brand.
09.11.2025 23:21 โ ๐ 3343 ๐ 939 ๐ฌ 52 ๐ 46Nothing better underscores that Dems have no values or beliefs than the fact that they called every issue except ACA subsidies a distraction and then proceeded to fully capitulate on ACA subsidies
10.11.2025 03:49 โ ๐ 73 ๐ 26 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0Youโre trash @shaheen.senate.gov and this will be your legacy
10.11.2025 02:46 โ ๐ 221 ๐ 29 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0if democrats want to retain any amount of integrity they need to immediately vote out chuck schumer as party minority leader
10.11.2025 02:50 โ ๐ 5196 ๐ 909 ๐ฌ 74 ๐ 28yeah this is with leadershipโs blessing and youโll never convince me otherwise. the whip is a yes, the rest of the yesโs are retiring or 4-6 years out from a primary, this is trash.
10.11.2025 02:50 โ ๐ 370 ๐ 70 ๐ฌ 9 ๐ 2The coordinated nature of thisโnone are facing voters in 2026โmeans that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.
Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
Normally retiring senators, from whichever party, do the courageous thing. This time they did the cowardly thing, and caved.
10.11.2025 02:25 โ ๐ 374 ๐ 75 ๐ฌ 15 ๐ 3Welcome to the Death Of Expertise Part 19745:
Kristy, the job of the Leader in the Senate is to hold the caucus together, Schumer has demonstrated that not only is he a liar on matters of healthcare, he is incapable of delivering.
Fuck off.
Sanders: That is a totally meaningless gesture. You can get 100 votes here and it won't mean anything because the House is not going to take it up.
10.11.2025 01:23 โ ๐ 14564 ๐ 3779 ๐ฌ 359 ๐ 250look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry
09.11.2025 23:37 โ ๐ 2715 ๐ 901 ๐ฌ 26 ๐ 42Just imagining the meeting where they must have been like โthey might cancel my flight? Time to kill the sick.โ

10.11.2025 01:55 โ ๐ 277 ๐ 81 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 1New slogan for New Hampshire:
Live free orโฆ
Never mind, weโll cave
I donโt think Democrats should reopen the government so long as Donald Trump is:
- Trying to starve millions of Americans
- Invading U.S. cities
- Disappearing people
- Taking a hatchet to public health
- Gutting environmental regulations
- Not funding foreign aid
- Committing war crimes
No compromise that doesnโt involve GOP surrender on all of that shit is worth supporting.
Let Republicans explain to voters why theyโre prioritizing evil shit over governing
"Government funding through Jan. 2026" โ destroying the healthcare system for 2 months of gov funding
"backpay for federal employees" โ existing law signed by Trump in '19 already guarantees this
"Furlough prevention" โ I don't know what the fuck this means
One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law!
That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.
So, yeah.
Don't know what Schumer actually did, but arranging the deal then voting no is like voting to advance debate (overcome a filibuster) then voting no on the legislation itself knowing that it will pass. It launders your capitulation for low attention voters.
