Trump is using the oldest authoritarian playbook: declare a false crisis, spread lies, then use it to grab power.North Carolina Republicans are doing the same — trying to rig maps, strip powers, and suppress votes because they fear losing fair election.

Trump and North Carolina Republicans are manufacturing chaos to seize permanent power. That’s not democracy — that’s dictatorship. The American people want safe, fair, and accessible elections — not fear, intimidation, and endless hurdles.

Together, these moves are part of the same authoritarian agenda: declare a false crisis, spread fear, and seize more power at the expense of the people.

Nationally, Trump has announced he will sign an Executive Order to eliminate vote-by-mail, replace voting machines with federally approved ones, and impose federal oversight of state elections. This is not reform — it’s an attempted hostile takeover of secure elections.

Republicans tried to steal Justice Riggs’s election, gerrymandered maps to entrench minority rule, stripped powers from Gov, and launched several attacks on judicial independence. Now, HB958 is their latest voter suppression attempt, aimed at making it harder for NCians to register and vote.

What we are seeing is not a series of isolated power grabs. It’s a coordinated attack on democracy — from Washington to Raleigh — designed to silence voters and dismantle the checks and balances that keep politicians accountable.
