The fact that the aforementioned intellectuals/academics in Turkey are completely preoccupied with academic concerns, remain distant from political events, and create an abstract world for themselves is one reason for the silence.

In Turkey, 1,737 workers have died in the last 10 months. The vast majority of these workers were child laborers and migrant workers. These deaths are political. Capital gain and accumulation worship the culture of exploitation.
