The Console - or, if you will, THE CON50LE - a book I wrote in 2022/23 and that came out in February 2024. It tells the stories of all the home consoles to have released between 1972 and 2022. It has a PS5 Dualsense controller on the cover as the publisher thought that'd be the most engaging option, rather than anything older. Idk. If I could do it again I'd argue for something else but I'd sort of given up at that point. I was tired, the book wasn't what I'd envisioned it being, it'd taken up so much time and really put family relations on edge due to how much work I'd put into it. So yeah, it selling so poorly obviously burns something awful. A good book, I think, wrapped in the wrong design and never really promoted well enough (some of that / most of that is on me but, yeah, I just wasn't happy with it. Time is a healer?)

My lowest-selling book by a fair margin, and the one that took (by far) the most time to put together. But I think it stands up well as a hardware history that finds time to go beyond the US and Japan and spotlight the creative people behind the machines.
