I am never not disappointed when a Dracula adaptation chooses to cut out Quincey.

Just started watching Penny Dreadful for the first time and six minutes in there are COWBOYS! Cowboys in gothic horror, as there should be, just like Dracula. 10/10, best show.

Some relevant info I picked up from a featurette is that the entire mythology was a series of bedtime stories M Night told his kids, which he then decided to use as Lore. So some of it may have roots in actual folklore, but not in an intentional "I am writing a movie that critics will unpack" way.

Oh yeah, this is going to be goooood! I do love to be normal about a podcast episode, everyone says this about me.

I saw Princess Mononoke in the cinema this afternoon and was really struck by how good the score is. I've watched it at home several times in the past but the music hit way more impressively with cinema speakers.
