Can you post the link to the claim? I am interested to try and figure out what they (think they?) are referring to.

I also can’t find any such paper. Whereas I do know of five that have looked for evidence of spike protein crossing the placenta following COVID vaccination, and not found any (links under q6…)

If this were a biological effect, we might expect greater severity of hypertension and worse outcomes in the vaccinated cohort, which wasn't the case.

So this may be down to imperfect matching between the cohorts (remember, this is a *simulated* trial). But still, one for continued monitoring. 4/4

The simulated trial did find a slightly increased risk of high blood pressure and pre-eclampsia associated with RSV vaccination, but the severity of these (when they occurred) was the same in both groups, and birth outcomes were the same. 3/

This was reassuring, because in the clinical trial there was a (non-significant) increase in preterm births in the vaccinated group.

This was likely due to chance and only affected South Africa, but nonetheless enhanced monitoring of preterm birth was warranted. 2/

πŸ‘€ As for all new vaccines, the safety of the #RSV #vaccine is being closely monitored.

Today's ACIP meeting is usually a time where experts come together to inform the future of vaccines. That is not what today will be. That is not what we can stand behind. The AAP will continue to recommend its own childhood vaccine schedule -- just as we have since the 1930s

The problem? None of those studies showed what HHS said they showed.

Pink and purple are positive aspects, green and blue are negative.

Can we see a pattern? 🀣

On a podcast I was asked about how prepared we are for the next pandemic.

I said that in terms of the science, we have never been in a better position. In terms of actualizing it and getting people to participate- that's where the work is.

And now we're also throwing away the science.
