I don't understand promoting the "promise" of an ACA vote as a win. That's embarrassing. It's like when my toddler says he'll go to sleep after one more song. At some point, I'm the dumb one for falling for it.

Get ready. Trump is going to get worse now. Much worse. The same playbook, just intensified. The elections were rigged, the polls must be watched, the ballots must be thrown out, only certain people should be allowed to vote, etc. It will get uglier and less American, if that is actually possible.

I think that's the key for streaming services: There is so much room for interactive features, but they should be simple, recognizable, and easily ignored (or opted-out of). Live Q&A, polls, voting, watching with others, reactions, etc. That's where it's at.

Post-CNN+, I've been talking and thinking a lot about interactive experiences within streaming services just because they are so few and far between. What we had at CNN was probably the most aggressive I've seen, and it wasn't in any way revolutionary or unique.

Placing it within the service allows you to validate the interactions at an account (and payment method) level, which aids in mitigating safety concerns.

Getting the functionality of live interaction within the TV remote experience was an uphill battle for me with CNN+, as there wasn't really any buy-in to be found (beyond my own hopes and dreams, ha). But I think it makes a ton of sense.

I love that Netflix has been testing out live voting for programming, and will be including it as a core feature of the upcoming Star Search reboot, where viewers will vote via their remote or mobile device.

It is reasonable to say that I more thoroughly vet online community members I am considering unbanning from a martial arts community than Donald Trump vets the people he ends up pardoning.

Unlike what Trump and the Republicans are doing to red states, the people of California will choose if the state goes down this path. I hope we do.

It may be too late, but Democrat governors have to rise to the moment, and try to beat the Republicans at their own game, so that we have some hope of stemming the rise of authoritarianism in this country.

Trump is not normal. This is not a normal time. To treat him as normal, as just like any other president, is to play into his hands.

Yes on 50. I'd love for redistricting to be done independently, as California has done the entire time I've lived here, but you have to take Trump at his word when he says he'll have a third term, and Christians "don't have to vote again" after electing him in 2024.
