MEPs have to ‘vote’ just to ‘condemn’ Russian violations of EU airspace?! Seriously!

Bad enough handcuffing such a young child. Full stop. But why have they restrained her so severely from the rear and not the front. Is she so violent and dangerous to the officer?! Absolutely sickening.

Starmer clearly hasn’t been to a pub recently. They are run like restaurants these days.

Give it to Zelenskyy - that will upset Trump, Putin, Orban etc. Zelenskyy deserves it anyway.

In order to convict, the CPS would need to show that the suspects had supplied information that is useful to the enemy. This essentially required the Govt to acknowledge that China is an enemy, and was concerned with political fallout with China.

There may be demand or black market for phones from Western Europe because they know they don’t contain malware to surveil users. People might not trust phones on Chinese market & may not support VPNs, P2P encryption etc.

What did they [the Tories] manage to achieve when they were not so long ago in power for 14 years. They even threatened to leave ECHR then but didn’t. Everything they say falls on deaf ears except the hard of thinking.

Does she know she has a right to have an education? Perhaps she should assert and claim it!

I very much doubt it. Sunak was afraid to try during his premiership. Just trying to appease Reform supporters.

Had more respect for William when he was actually working as RAF SAR Pilot. But now he is just living on vast amounts of accumulated wealth while many are on the breadline which shows he is detached from the majority of us, begging the question whether we need a Monarchy in this day and age.

Prolonged exposure to sun causes skin cancer too, not just sunbeds. Banning sunbeds will not reduce skin cancer. One needs to be sensible when in the sun.

The Tories were equally complicit in this as they failed their duty as custodians of public funds.

With it being a civil matter, I don’t think the Govt will see any of the money. It is reported that the company has far less in assets than judgment sum.

I doubt they will have to sell their personal assets. I’ll be surprised if the Govt get anything back.

Waste of time & public funds pursuing a civil claim. Pursuing criminal proceedings may be a better option, then seize assets under POCA.

I’m of the view that there shouldn’t be added cost, even for the ID card bec many forms of ID exist and we are essentially paying for a fragmented system & Govt inefficiencies.

As for poor people. My family are on low incomes. I was not so long ago on breadline, so don’t judge book by its cover!

At just £9.45/year for an adult? It would also be least overall cost to the taxpayer because the system is already in place.

26.09.2025 17:40 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Might be free to the individual but not the Govt. The cost to Government to implement and maintain a secure system to enable registration verification etc would outweigh take up on free IDs.

CH have been gradually introducing ID measures to combat fraudulent registration etc. Nothing to do with the arguments on digital ID.

26.09.2025 17:26 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

I suspect sign up for free ID may well be quite low especially amongst those that have passport, drivers licence etc. Low take up will unlikely cover cost to introduce.

Agree. A little joined up thinking between HO and PO may well find a solution without the majority having to pay for another document because of Govt incompetence and inefficiency.

26.09.2025 17:05 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

Would it not be cost effective & more efficient to ensure everyone has a passport, rather than a separate ID card. The Govt systems is fragmented and overly bureaucratic, at cost to taxpayer. Some joined up thinking seriously required.
