It’s a good feeling returning to BlueSky in late fall 2024 and slowly, one at a time, unfollowing several of the mentally ill prog and resistlib accounts I followed in late summer 2023.

The idea that CFPB is duplicative is horseshit. The reason it was created is that there is no other regulatory agency whose job it is to look out for consumers being ripped off by complex financial products. Thats why ppl like Musk having being trying to eliminate it since its creation.

He then was like “no no no that’s not me I’m just a schmuck.” He remarked that his story shows that we’re no longer in a “‘gatekeeping’ era” in terms of who’s allowed to say stuff, and that that’s both good and bad. [2/2]

Honestly the discourse on here is so much better than Twitter. I tossed off a take, people came in to correct me, we had a conversation, and folks were willing to give me grace about the stuff I admitted I got wrong!
