We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

Grid scale batteries are changing our electricity system. Excellent new visual story on batteries in FT today shows just how far this technology has evolved.

Fasten your seatbelts, this is just the beginning.

putting that kind of person in charge of a mass media company that serves millions would be considered a bad business decision in any context

the reason this discourse will never end is because it is completely untethered from any kind of evidentiary standard. as long as there is a 19-year-old barista somewhere saying โ€œcultural appropriation,โ€ guys like nichols will complain that โ€œdemocratsโ€ use alienating language.

I actually agree that Democrats should refrain from using most of these. And they already do! When was the last time a Senator said 'heteronormative'?

The bigger problem is that orgs like Third Way are reinforcing this false, right-wing narrative. Dems can't stop doing something they're not doing!

Trump and Musk agree on the fundamentals:

*Both see the US state as something to capture for megalomaniacal self-dealing

*Both agree the US state should abandon the global poor to face unimaginable suffering

*Both want the state to dramatically roll back help for working people and the poor

We keep hearing the Trump-Musk saga reveals the split between tech oligarchs and MAGA. But they're largely in sync on crucial matters involving egalitarianism and the state. Trump/Musk mainly differ over how badly to screw the poor.

Rep. Laurel Libby, R-Auburn, recently used my second-place finish in the 1,600-meter run, and that of my teammate in the 800-meter run, to malign Soren Stark-Chessa, the trans-identified athlete who finished first.

One of the reasons I chose to run cross-country and track is the community: Teammates cheering each other on, athletes from different schools coming together, and the fact that personal improvement is valued as much as, if not more than, the place we finish.

Last Friday, I ran the fastest 1,600-meter race I have ever run in middle school or high school track and earned varsity status by my schoolโ€™s standards. I am extremely proud of the effort I put into the race and the time that I achieved. The fact that someone else finished in front of me didnโ€™t diminish the happiness I felt after finishing that race. I donโ€™t feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points.

We are all just kids trying to make our way through high school. Participating in sports is the highlight of high school for some kids. No one was harmed by Sorenโ€™s participation in the girlsโ€™ track meet, but we are all harmed by the hateful rhetoric of bullies, like Rep. Libby, who want to take sports away from some kids just because of who they are.

โ€˜There will be nothing leftโ€™: researchers fear collapse of science in Argentina One year into Javier Mileiโ€™s presidency, scientists are exiting the country in the face of big budget cuts.

This is an article that prefigures very accurately what we will be reading about American (and American based) scientists in about ten months. The collapse of the top scientific research network in the world.

Elon Muskโ€™s Team Now Has Access to Treasuryโ€™s Payments System Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave Mr. Muskโ€™s representatives at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency a powerful tool to monitor and potentially limit government spending.

I want to spell out the basic reason itโ€™s so dangerous for Elon to have control of the U.S. payments system. It may seem like a technical matter, but the dynamics are simple. 1/x
