When I was just talking with my friends about wanting something like this.. it happens.

I will have to check this out this weekend and stream it.

I actually have been ruminating on this exact thing in ARPG games actually, and I think a smaller community size might actually be a really good thing.

It helps to weed out bad actors, but also can lead to echo chambers.. so hrm..

It also helps that there is also a very active moderation team and a community that very actively self regulates the assholes out of the community through in-game and the forums and discord.

Its impressive to me.

I wish I saw more games replicate this, but the size may be the reason why it works.

My thoughts on this stem from playing Ephenia (PSO:BB) where pre-game lobbies are still a thing and potentially the thing that helps keep the game alive for its nearly constant 300+ active players at any given time.

The ease of hopping in, seeing names you know, and gaming is very powerful.

Been ruminating on how the death of decent text chat pre-game lobbies may have helped to kill the ARPG in a Co-Op fashion, but also how the growth of larger ARPGs and the toxicity of larger communities drove the pre-game lobby text chat to a logical extinction as well.
