The theoretical resignation of both the President and the VP will result in Senate Pres (Tito Sotto) as Acting President, but only temporarily.
A special presidential election must be called within 2 months. The current VP is not barred then from running for President.; she will likely win.

In the months after Harrisβ loss, much was made over the demographic shifts in the party. Young voters, Hispanic voters and Black voters β all central to the Democratic coalition β had moved substantially to the right. But Prioritiesβ post-election polling revealed an equally staggering swing: Between 2020 and 2024, people who consumed at least three hours of YouTube a day had moved 10 points toward Trump β a bigger swing than Black voters, Black men, young voters and a slew of other categories that were dominating headlines.
βThe driver of behavior in β24 was so much more about your media consumption,β Butterfield said.

Once the narrative is established that pink/progressives are electable within these barangays, the next step is for these barangay leaders to set forth more proof of concept to wider voters that the movement can be entrusted with government.

Maps like these and the underlying granular barangay vote data, now establish there are dozens of pink/progressive barangays across nation. If the Leni coalition concentrates on running their candidates and seizing councils in next barangay polls, that's a narrative that carries into 2028.

Infographic titled βOne Court, Two Standardsβ compares how the Supreme Court used emergency powers to rule on lower-court injunctions against the Biden and Trump administrations. Two panels show:
β’ Biden Administration: Lower courts blocked policies in 21 cases. All 21 cases are represented by red squares, indicating that 0% of injunctions/TROs were lifted by SCOTUS.
β’ Trump Administration: Lower courts blocked policies in 86 cases. 66 green squares and 20 red squares show that 77% of injunctions/TROs were lifted by SCOTUS.
Key takeaway box below reads:
βUsing its βshadow docket,β the Supreme Court granted emergency relief to lift 77% of lower-court injunctions against the Trump administration. It lifted 0% of those against the Biden administration.β
Sources and notes below include: CourtListener data through July 7, 2025; analysis by Adam Bonica.
The Supreme Courtβs βshadow docketβ has cast very different shadows depending on which party holds the White House.
When lower courts blocked Trump admin policies, SCOTUS intervened on an emergency basis to lift those orders in 77% of cases.
For the Biden administration, that number was 0%.

The most rotten thing about JD Vance is that he has three half-Indian children including a son name "Vivek," yet he still prattles on about how you must descend from the Europeans who'd settled America prior to 1861 in order for your citizenship to be valid.

I want to reiterate that countless conservative judges issued universal injunctions against the Biden administration, and the Supreme Court never halted the practice. Now, barely five months into Trump's second term, the court puts an end to these injunctions. A brazen double standard.

Bill Moyers, eminence of public affairs broadcasting, dies at 91
He was White House press secretary under Lyndon B. Johnson and Newsday publisher before becoming an acclaimed television journalist, mostly for PBS.
Of his move from presidential press secretary to journalist, Mr. Moyers told Shelby, βYou learn certain things: That youβre happier if youβre trying to report the truth than if youβre trying to conceal it.β

"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions
Our unofficial estimate is that around 4 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.
Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!
Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels

Independence is self-reliance. Independence is thus diffcult, unnerving. Some rush into it unmindful of consequence, others tread cautiously but definitely. Whatever the case, independence requires bravery above all.

Jose Corazon de Jesus -- Huseng Batute -- the King of Balagtasan (and the Tagalog lyricist of Bayan Ko) was able to record for Columbia Records two records before his death in May 1932. It would be phenomenal if copies of these records were to be discovered as still existing.
