Gene at Hammersmith Apollo. A heartwarming show in front of an adoring crowd by a band that meant a lot to me during the mid to late 1990s.

Fourth gig in as many nights...

The Beta Band at the Roundhouse. I'm happy I managed to see them again and enjoyed their set without fully connecting (due to arriving late/having to settle for a place at the back of the venue behind the pillars among the talkers). Definitely the worst place to watch a gig from in London.

That three song run of Sé Lest (my all time favourite, a genuine gig 'bucket list' moment for me) into Ára Bátur (just beyond celestial with children's choir and RAH pipe organ) into a triumphant Hoppípola was incredibly special. A truly magical show by arguably the most magical band on the planet.

Absolutely transcendent show by Sigur Rós and the London Contemporary Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall last night.

Oasis at Wembley Stadium. Absolutely BIBLICAL, even from a side of stage, up in the gods vantage point. Happy with how I executed my Liam-hands-behind-the-back-neck-outstretched stances for the "SUNSHEEEIIIIINNES" in Cigarettes & Alcohol and Rock N Roll Star.

The Beths playing their hyper-melodic, ultra-endearing, happy-sad, technicolour indie-power-pop at the Roundhouse last night. New album The Straight Line Was A Lie is a genuine album of the year contender 🩷

Finally getting round to listening to the records I bought in New York last month. See You On The Other Side by Mercury Rev, Fakebook by Yo La Tengo and Instant Holograms On Metal Film by Stereolab 😍

Hangover Terrace by Ron Sexsmith is rapidly becoming one of my favourite albums of the year. Absolutely exquisite even by his standards. Bagged a ticket to see him at Cadogan Hall in February also which should be special.

Absolutely euphoric show by The Frank & Walters at 229 last night. Arms were outstretched, lyrics collectively sung back, people danced and pogo-ed with liberation, others fell into each other's arms. Glorious. Also, how can singer Paul Linehan still look almost identical to how he did in the 90s? 🧡

An enjoyable evening of Warpy/cerebral/crunchy/celestial electronic soundworlds courtesy of Loraine James' Whatever The Weather project at Milton Court. Support came in the form of contemporary classical exquisiteness from Lucinda Chua.

Race For The Prize by The Flaming Lips at half time. Glorious (unlike Walthamstow's performance so far).

And as is traditional, Touch Sensitive by The Fall just before kick off. What a club ❤️

I've come to watch my local non league football team Walthamstow FC and the pre-match playlist has already included The Lemonheads and Wire and now we have some Sugar 😍

Arijit Singh at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The first UK stadium show by an Indian artist was an eagerly anticipated prospect in the Singh Johnson household and it did not disappoint. This was an epic show full of drama, energy and emotion (and at 3 hours & 40 minutes the longest show I've attended).
