You cannot craft a law that they wouldn't twist, because for them, intellectually honest, rigorous, and accurate readings are not part of their project. Their project is one of pure ideology. Where law aligns, they advance. Where the law contradicts, they circumvent with fallacies and lies.

Yes.Conservatives do not need to worry about exploiting progressive laws. So often, they assemble their arguments from irrational places. In the U.S. in particular, this fabricate precedent, distort statutory language, dissemble, take up strawman arguments.

Absent any justification, they find a way

Sometimes people argue against progressive policies or practices on account that it sets a dangerous precedent which conservatives will exploit.

The problem with that argument is that conservative politicians absolutely do not care about having a precedent. They’re going to do it either way.

Any reporter who is writing about the DOJ subpoenas and lends air to the claims that off-label prescribing in PTRH is unique, uncommon, novel, or suspect is either:

1. Negligent.
2. Fashy.
3. Willfully Ignorant.
4. Terrible at their job.
