It also had some extremely sensitive restoration work from Greg Sadowski, who deserves major credit for giving Toth's art the treatment it deserved

The Fantagraphics collection of Toth material covered a sampling of two years in the 1950's, and ran more than 400 pages, every one of which was ace.

We've been forced to adopt midcentury Pentagon Soviet policy toward Republican states

Therefore, science has determined that BATMAN (1966) starring Adam West and Burt Ward is the greatest prestige TV show of all time

On a policy level, that's largely true. On a political level, I'm arguing politicians seldom get credit for prices going down or even paychecks going up: they get credit when (like Trump) they send out stimulus checks with their names on them or blast emails about tax rebates.

I don't think it's a problem that gets sorted out under any circumstances, because all of these issues (rent costs, food costs, gas prices) come down to one thing: voters all feel like they want more money. They don't really notice when prices go down, but they *do* notice if they get a check.

That's really unfair and reductive. It also means more blackouts.

My ideal principle is that culture writing should involve a kind of historical role playing: until I can understand the whole world of someone living in, say, 1960 Greenwich Village, I'm not really equipped to understand what their music was all about.

(By neocons I was referring to the public intellectuals and not the apparatchiks: Kristol, Fukayama, Wolfowitz, et. al.)

Oh, for sure, but my half-crank conviction is that the guys like Rumsfeld were never really neocons in the first place; they just wore the label because it was a very convenient avenue to doing what they loved most (colonizing and pillaging)

The notion ends up getting poisoned because of the recent history of neoconservatives in government, but of course the neocons were really trying (disastrously, but still) to recapture something more fundamental: the liberal internationalism that birthed a United Nations

You're not looking at this the right way, which is to consider all the low-interest loans you can get by writing your profession as "incel asshole" on the application form

This is just where it turns out that our super-rich class is scheming and conspiratorial, but also extremely timid and submissive, which is why they turned to the help of a charismatic dictator in the first place.
