On July 1st there was an interfaith vigil protesting mass deportations of immigrants. The Leaders attempted to meet with each of Long Island's Congressional representatives in August to share their concerns.

If the Senate also passes the SAVE Act this Congress, voters must present citizenship documentation to re-register every time they move.

It is already illegal for noncitizens to register and vote in federal or state elections. The bill’s requirement of a document to prove American citizenship to register to vote in federal elections would unnecessarily burden many communities of voters.

Respond to Your Member of the House’s Vote on the SAVE Act
The House voted to pass the SAVE Act 220-208. This bill would require Americans to provide documentation of citizenship in person to register to vote.
