i dont know much about plot structure. learned a little this winter and think fichtean curve is interesting. reading save the cat right now with a writing group to learn more about that planning method. tbh i kind of jumped into writing without a lot of thinking.

I like movie scores. How to Train Your Dragon and LOTR are some of my favorites. When writing fantasy, epic background music feels right.

i like the title, and cover art with a golden threat wrapping around the book would be really pretty.

i've been thinking about working with my local library to start one. or maybe a coffee shop. i haven't actually put effort into figuring it out yet or contacting anyone.

i read a book where two people were courting, and they walked around a pond. they just walked and talked. i kept waiting for someone to go in and nothing... it's funny how some situations are so ingrained in us that we're almost disappointed if they don't happen.

i like the emotion thesaurus. i mostly use it to get my brain working. as I consider a character in a specific moment, their thoughts and feelings, this book helps me create the description around those internal sensations.

as i reread my last round of revisions, i find that cramming in happens. for me, editing has partly been bringing it back to the streamlined work you were talking about initially. i feel like a gardener at this point, weeding and pruning away as i try to make a cohesive story that's easy to follow.

this project is my first novel, so it's all new to me. i can't even tell you how many revisions i've been through. really learning on the fly here.

i love rereading a scene and feeling moved by it. my favorite stories are the ones that make me feel something real. when somehow i do that to myself, when a conversation between two of my own characters tugs at my heart, it's pure magic.

much of editing is drudgery, but sometimes it's delicious.

i take a break and do something else. it doesn't really matter what. sometimes a few minutes away from my computer is enough to clear my head.

squid game 3. my husband picked. we just finished the glass dome on netflix. love a mini/limited series.

did some reflection on chapter 32 to figure out my goals. hoping to finish revisions on it by friday and tackle another chapter over the weekend.

I read a lot of different genres too. I think scifi/fantasy is my favorite, which is what I write. But I read most other genres too. I especially enjoy nonfiction and classics.
