Something else if all 4 Welsh go is that do season tickets go down in price? You've lost 2 home games. So your ticket that got you 11 guaranteed home games only nets you 9.

To see it increase when it's giving near 20% less games?

Keep the current URC format and lose Welsh teams and you've a 39 week season if you don't clash internationals and URC.

From player welfare that's more manageable.

That's 46 weeks of rugby.

Go to 12 and the playoffs move to top 4? Top 8 going into the play offs feels off.

That's 24 weeks for the URC, 8 weeks for Europe, 4 weeks for the Nations Championship in the Autumn, 7 weeks for the 6N (assuming no league rugby on the rest week), 3 weeks for the Nations Championship in summer

So maybe a reduction to 14 games would suit? No games a week before and after the autumn international window and no game a week before and after the Six Nations?

Because sometimes the wording from Phil is along the lines of "there's a clear opportunity for there to be Welsh teams in the Prem" for me suggesting that it's not an offer but rather he sees 2 spaces and that the WRU/Regions should be approaching PRL for those spots.

There's an opening there. The question for me is has there been a genuine offer from PRL that they would, under the new franchise plans, like 2 Welsh teams to fill those two slots?

URC won't want to go to a 22 game regular season as it will clash with the international game and for blazers that will be verboten.

Cheetahs are already competing in the Challenge Cup as are Black Lions so they would seem to be the prime candidates for 2 of the spots.

Can the Georgian RU afford the costs of being in the URC? Will the URC need to subsidise their travel?

If it's a move to 2 Welsh teams only does that mean Black Lions and Cheetahs come in to make up the number?

From a Welsh POV this is going to add in an extra expense of travelling.

I can see Black Lions and Cheetahs being reasonably competitive but the 2 US teams? They'll make Zebre look top class.

Then that conference is going to have some horrendous travel costs

Play hone and away and then home or away against the other? Gives a 16 game season with 8 home games.

Does the URC make a new conference of 4 teams to get back to 18 games and 9 home games?

A 12 team full home and away league would be 22 regular season games which is probably not likely as games will clash with the international window.

A move to 2 conferences of 6 teams?

With the potential loss of 2 Welsh teams and maybe all 4 from the URC how will that affect the finances?

Lose all 4 Welsh teams and that reduces the total number of regular games per team to 14 with only 7 home games.

Then when is the knock on effect for the TV rights in the UK?

Would this be more appropriate for the West?
