This hit hard. Although the whole image has an aching beauty to it, the black coffee in the Obama birther mug actually made me well up.

A decorative bronze pin featuring a vertical rod with a central horizontal bar adorned with three large, translucent amber-colored beads. A small chain hangs from the center, and the top is capped with a dark finial and bead-like ornament.

This bronze pin with amber and glass beads was found on the edge of the Uechter Moor,a bog in Lower Saxony.
Elaborate jewellery was often deposited in lakes or bogs as an offering to the gods in the Iron Age.
The pin dates to the 6th-4th centuryBC.

Her paper critically interrogates the call for political theorists to reject (nation-)state-centric ways of seeing the political world.

Again, why critical thinking skills are crucial in education. If people are bombarded with a constant stream of algorithmically selected content that engages them emotionally and we aren't equipping them with critical thinking skills from an early age then things like this are the inevitable outcome
