Yeah, that makes sense. I remember it was part of a philosopher’s reason for leaving Canada for good. I wish there were a voice, especially in academia, to object to this archaic part of the ceremony.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the ceremony as it was involved in taking an oath to the king of another country. I couldn't digest that, even though it was symbolic. Any thoughts on that matter?
