• Edward the Confessor has died.
• Harold Godwineson has been named king instead of Edgar Ætheling.
• Edward has been buried.
• Harold has been crowned.
It's still only 6 January.

One of the unusual items eaten by Michel Lotito (known as "Monsieur Mangetout"), in a list that features 18 bicycles and a pair of skis, is a copy the general relativity textbook "Gravitation" by Misner, Thorne and Wheeler.
