Getting off US tech: a guide
I’m in the process of dropping US tech services. Here’s how I did it, and options you should consider.
Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump was a mask off moment and showed the world we can’t depend on US tech companies.
For the past few months, I’ve been trying to get off US tech and I put together a guide so you find alternatives too. I hope you find it helpful!

This story is such a gut punch and adds another layer of tragedy to the shooting.
Canada’s proposed Online Harms Bill died on the order paper with the prorogation of Parliament in 2025. It needs to be brought back and strengthened immediately.

We don't have any money and we don't have any migration. I have the perfect idea -- let's spend millions on a referendum.

Hootsuite CEO says ICE contract will stand as long as agency honours terms and conditions
‘We did nothing wrong here,’ head of Vancouver social media company said in internal call with employees
There is not a lot Canadians can do about ICE, but we can ask Parliament to investigate Canadian companies doing business with them, like Hootsuite. Call or email your MP - or contact the INDU House committee MPs. Will post link below. www.theglobeandmail.com/business/art...

Carney has spent the past year subtweeting Trump.
At a certain point, these words mean nothing if he won't actually come out and say what he's criticizing.

Gotta agree with Lindsay here. The piece equates pension savings to any other consumer choice. That ignores the insurance aspect of pensions, which is central to understanding the issue if you're an actual economist.

From Wikipedia: In 1999, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled in M v H that same-sex couples in Canada were entitled to receive many of the financial and legal benefits commonly associated with marriage. However, this decision stopped short of giving them the right to full legal marriage. Most laws which affect couples are within provincial rather than federal jurisdiction. As a result, rights varied somewhat from province to province.
On January 14, 2001, Reverend Brent Hawkes forced the issue by performing two same-sex marriages, taking advantage of the fact that Ontario law authorizes him to perform marriages without a previous license, via the issuance of banns of marriage. The registrar refused to accept the records of marriage, and a lawsuit was commenced over whether the marriages were legally performed. In other provinces, lawsuits were launched seeking permission to marry.
Happy Anniversary to all who observe. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-se...
