Our media critic, Erik Wemple, was less fortunate. His straightforward column disagreeing with the Bezos announcement—I read it in our internal system, and found it perfectly reasonable—never ran.

Hospitals that are cutting off care to trans people under nineteen are the very definition of "complying in advance"—some, as I report in this story, even claiming, incorrectly, that Trump has "prohibited" gender-affirming care.
