I've ordered a dumb phone. A modern flip phone. I'm tired of the internet. Tired of apps. I'm going to lock the internet in a room, on a big screen, like it used to be. Deciding to carry the internet in our pocket was a mistake.

Going through some more of my Beechcraft photos.

Another shot with 2 of them together. Pretty poor photo overall, but not too bad. Took some pretty heavy editing though. Conditions weren't great and they stayed pretty far away, but cool to see them flying in formation.

Found a picture of a Staggerwing I took at the Old Buckenham Airshow in England a few years ago. I was only shooting JPEG then but still ended up with a pretty good photo I think.

Caught this little guy as I was walking out to my car. I got less than 3 feet away from him and he just watched me until eventually flying off silently. Wish I'd had my camera, but still an awesome experience and my phone did it's best.

My wife has been battling a Mealybug infestation for the past few months. They're incredibly resilient and you have to stay on top of them, but it's getting a lot better. I did however use this opportunity to test out my new camera gear some more.

Trying out some of my new Macro equipment on some carpet beetles. They're so tiny, but really cool looking up close.

Any photographers have tips for cloning SD cards outside of Windows? Just had a blue screen fuck up my SD card and over 1,000 photos are gone. I was able to recover some, but now I'm afraid to put my original SD cards into my laptop without a spare copy...

The last year has really pushed me into the "old man yells at clouds" lifestyle. I'm tired of "AI". I'm tired of downloading apps. 7-factor authentication. Passkeys. Ads

I still long for self driving cars because driving to work is annoying, but everything else makes me want to move into a forest.

Ran the sparrow through Lightroom again. I wish I could get Darktable working a little better.

Gave the finch another run in Lightroom and like it better. I wish these programs were a bit more intuitive.

Experimenting with Darktable because I was having a really hard time with Lightroom. I think Darktable is even less user friendly, but at least it's free.

I found a praying mantis at work today. It appeared frozen and was struggling to move. Brought it home and my wife has it in with some of her quarantined plants. She even bought it some worms and it has perked up quite a bit. Probably at the end of its life, but at least it won't freeze to death now

The missile park looks pretty cool. Wish I had known about it when I was out near LA a few years back.

Couple photos i took this week that I thought were kinda neat. Slightly cropped but otherwise as shot. I really want to do more urban/street photography. It's just so much different from what I normally shoot.

I've never been a huge fan of black and white photography, but I think the artwork on the box stands out more in B&W. I had originally been attracted to the color and condition, rust, etc, but I feel it draws my eye even more without color.

Someone said this would be cool in black and white and they were correct.

Took another crack at them using Lightroom. Experimenting with more heavy-handed edits.

I normally only shoot aircraft in the sky but figured I'd try something different at work today. It's hard for me to find interesting shots because it's not the kind of thing I'm usually looking for. Couple quick edits on my phone. #aircraft #junkyard #photography

They sure do! I use similar but shorter stacks. Mine are the perfect height that they roll under my workbench when not in use. Definitely worth every penny.

More practice. This time with a photo from Sun N Fun earlier this year. This was a late evening aerobatic flight and I really loved how the lights looked. The raw photos are pretty dark and grainy, but some quick edits and I'm much happier.

Those are my favorite birds. Love to watch them when they're hunting. Tricky to get close enough for good photos around here though.

Oooo, this is cool! This is an interesting way to make use of all the overhead shots that I don't ever know what to do with.

Tried messing with Lightroom again. Just some basic edits on this T-33 to get familiar with the UI again. It's an incredibly powerful tool and I still have a LOT to learn.
