I thought it was Anne of Green Gables. Or maybe Matthew Cuthbert. He had long hair too.

How I wish I were in Sherbrooke now, even if the heritage village is closed for the season.

Are you sure? In the the song, "Blame Canada" from the South Park movie, the lyrics go "With their beady little eyes and flapping heads so full of lies." It can't be just a coincidence, can it?
The weather finally turned cold in Halifax. I could use a good Donair right now.

Posting orders to the AG on a social media site? Why, i remember when Obama talking to the AG on a tarmac made Republicans lose their minds. And there remains, of course, the eternal crie de cΕ“ur, "But her emails!" Certainly worth flushing the American-led Western world down the toilet for.

Bondi's notes remind me of the notes from Bush II WH press director to T-Sec O'Neill for an appearance on "Meet the Press" (published in "The Price of Loyalty") T-Sec is told to say certain lines "no matter what the question." It seemed clear that T-Sec had no direction direction over policy.

In addition to providing topics for discussion and writing, the kids really like having the "pro" materials. It helps grab and sustain their interest.

Great! For 20+years I taught high school gov't and an int'l relations elective and paid for The Atlantic at a price steeply discounted for teachers (much appreciated) Most months, I used 1-3 articles. For. Policy gave every kid in my IR class a year subscription free (also much appreciated).

In this construction, the only possible antecdent for "they" is "indictments." Yes, we'll be seeing more corrupt indictments. Thanks, Mr. Chief Justice at al.

It's just like Frederick the Great said about Maria Theresa when those two and Catherine the Great carved up Poland. Said Frederick: "She wept, but she took."

Too bad Senate Rs just changed the rules so they can approve nominees en bloc. Sens Collins, Murkowski, Kennedy, et alia wring their hands and wail about what the administration does, but they vote the way Trump needs them to vote.

As I looked at this lovely scene, in my head I heard the J.S. Bach tune "Where Sheep May Safely Graze." Changing it to "Where Dachshunds May Safely Graze" somehow tickles me.

_Domesticated_, overbred feedlot turkeys are indeed ΓΌberdumb. But wild turkeys, which I've hunted with little success, and some of the older turkey breeds, especially the bourbon reds, which my brother and sister-in-law raised for years, are pretty bright and have marvelous survival instincts.

"...deliberately preserved some of his enemies as symbols of the continuing evil he fought against..."
Weird Al (a genius, in my opinion) grasped this idea in his song "Yoda": "He said, "Luke...I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed, but remember if you kill him, then you'll be unemployed..."

But let me guess: the senator won't cast a vote in defense of a basic right if it means voting against the wishes of the admin.

Wasn't the GOP's slogan in 2008 "Country over party?"

I'm sorry for what's happened, Mr Dowd. You must be feeling pretty low. You did nothing wrong. Here's to hoping a well-run network or political campaign recognizes what a gem you are and picks you up.

Regarding the Schiavo matter, I seem to recall several of Frist's classmates from Harvard Med writing an open letter to him asking him to stop diagnosing a patient he had not seen suffering a condition about which Frist had no special knowledge.

Her rival, Scottish soprano Mary Garden, was, like Farrar, considered a serious hottie.

Vocally though, not the greatest Carmen. The role is really for a mezzo. She waa much more of a lyric soprano who wantedto sing dramatic roles. She hurt her voice doing that. By all accounts though, she was a fantastic actress who looked great on stage.
