It is, but at the same time it's consistently applied - she was trying to get expelled and wouldn't have been if she'd gone on the telly and declared From The River To The Sea

The Israeli government is sickeningly evil by any reasonable standards. It's fairly average by the standards of sickeningly evil governments that the West has backed for strategic reasons, but the peculiar thing there is that it has nothing to offer us, only a perpetual cost sink in $ and goodwill

Didn't she break the party whip, the one thing that has explicitly been an expelling offence since the earliest days of Australian trades unionism?

It is persistently obtuse to read how the government genuinely believes it was elected chiefly on the promise of not raising taxes, rather than improving public services (by any means necessary).

Never has an election been so misread by the winning party.

There’s this weird tendency to respond to critiques of twitter by noting that bluesky is insufferable but like. I don’t care. Go to threads. Post on somethingawful. Get into carrier pigeons. Your brain is rotten and will get worse til you leave there

North Wales has been the heart of electricity generation and innovation in the UK forever.

First public supplies in the Conwy Valley.
First commercial offshore wind farm.
First UK tests of wind power in 1949!

I think a 20 year production life would have been well up there in their positive scenarios, with 40 years as really quite a pipedream

Why Might The World's Most Versatile Widebody Aircraft Have Boeing Worried? The Airbus A330neo has quietly become one of the most important aircraft in the industry, impacting the widebody short to medium haul market.

I don't think anyone in their right mind working for Airbus in the late 1980s would have predicted that the A320 and A330 families would still be knocking it out of the park in 2025

Biddy Baxter was a trailblazer in a time when women were routinely sidelined and patronised: Blue Peter was and remains innovative TV that shows the world to children.

She didn't sell the film rights until the series had already taken off, so she retained an unusually large amount of editorial control - it's why all the leads were British and the filming took place in the UK

crisis has a way of exposing some people and giving others a chance to rise to the occasion and in no instance can I think of a more compelling example than this woman and the Governor of Michigan

β€œPresident Deploys Military To Streets of The Capital” is one of those headlines that you generally only get when things are going poorly for the President, and I think that’s still true here

email to me:

Our disabled son has CP and bladder spasms so urologist is recommending Botox treatments and we read your article and are concerned about the presence of mRNA in the Botox.

Is mRNA in all brands?
How can we know if it is in there?
Is there a safe brand you recommend?

He has to have this so what do we do?

Thanks

my reply:

personally, i'd recommend you follow the advice of your doctor. but what do i know, i'm just a random person you emailed. I have no more formal education around botox than the author Naomi Wolf, whose advice I assume you were actually seeking. but since you emailed me, my suggestion is that you listen to your kid's urologist, who is a trained medical professional, rather than seeking out medical advice from someone with an english degree and a history of making significant errors in her research.

best of luck!

a specific skill I've developed over the past ~20 years is crafting responses to emails sent to me, but intended for that other Naomi Wolf

I think it is incredibly fucked up that the leadership of the largest socialist organization in the US uses a website that a Nazi billionaire turned into Stormfront as its main communication platform, and its own internal forums are somehow worse.
