Yesterday, Maurene Comey, who prosecuted the Epstein case, was summarily fired from SDNY. Her letter to colleagues pulls no punches. "Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought."

We can afford to fire national intelligence analysts because there are anonymous sources of Intel available online. And nobody in this administration is going to think critically about the contents of Intel reports anyway.

This is unconscionable. The Supreme Court is broken, captured, hijacked. Roberts and the other 5 are aiding and abetting fascism.

Wild to think that everyone could be free and happy and their true selves and have a basic income and healthcare and have their needs understood and met by society and not be displaced or killed and instead we’re choosing this

Political violence is surging as Trump kills prevention efforts, a top security expert warns Former DHS official William Braniff talks about building an innovative model for stopping terrorismβ€”and how its loss may harm America.

β€œWe’re at real risk of normalizing political violence as a part of our democracy.”

As political violence surges, Trump has shut down one of the nation's top prevention programs, with most of its 40-plus personnel having been fired, reassigned, or otherwise pushed out.

Kentucky cops are paying Christian ministries to train their dogs at Ark Encounter There's evidence that taxpayer-funded training seminars for dogs, hosted at Ark Encounter, pushed Christianity on participants

Kentucky cops are training their dogs at a Creationist theme park where they’re rewarded for memorizing Bible verses.

Taxpayer-funded Jesus dog school is real. Will anyone care?

The center between a government of the people and a government of oligarchs and gerrymandered representation is a meaningless center.

This was an excellent episode of pod Dave America. Government really does do things that serve the public. Listen, then buy the book for someone.

Business to business that's basically what they are doing. Quotes that are valid for 30 days now contain a disclaimer reserving the right to adjust the price and delivery terms depending on how the tariffs are applied.

Just nine days later, dad breathed his last breath. Just days away, I still don't have any plans for this year's game. Perhaps we'll watch it with mom again.

Throughout his life as a parent he would rarely have more than one drink or even one shared with mom, but it was a ritual he savored nonetheless. After his snack, he went back to sleep. He smiled again, later, when we told him that his team had won in an exciting overtime nail-biter.

He got a little brightness in his eyes when I offered him a sip of my beer and also another sip of Lori's wine. He really seemed to enjoy his final taste of alcohol.

At one point, when he had called for help getting to the temporary commode we had set up for him near the bed, we were able to talk him into taking a taste of some of the game snacks. Just little bites, as he wasn't eating much of anything, but enough to remember how game day food tastes.

Dad had fallen asleep in the first quarter of most of the playoff games, so he was aware of who was in it. He had no strong allegiance to either team. I think he still felt like Patrick Mahomes had come up from an underdog position, so he said he was rooting for the Chiefs.

In the case of Ohio teams in the NFL, the loyalty and underdog streams crossed quite often. For last year's big game he was too weak to watch, but Lori prepared some snacks and we went over anyway to watch the game with mom.

Dad grew up in Ohio where pretty much everybody is a football fan. My mother's brother was a NCAA Div I football coach, and my family traveled to watch many games. He would root for my Uncle's team, but outside of specific loyalties, he would root for the underdog.

A year ago my father was very ill. He needed to be assisted with everything - getting up from the bed, using the toilet, etc. My mom was a patient helper, and Lori and I live close enough to help out for a few hours most days, as well. I'm thinking about this now, as the super bowl approaches.
