Sad, but true.

Typing in MS Word this morning and it gives the word "ontologist" a red underline. It underlines it here as well as I type. All I can think is the word is uncommon enough that these apps want to be sure I don't mean something else. Or maybe they need an ontologist?

We have a hat shop near me. I don't know how it stays in business, but it's cool to see.

Death is the only constant, universal, final, and unavoidable thing we all share, yet it continues to throw me for a loop. Every damn time. My cordless shop vac died this morning while I was cleaning, and even that hurt and surprised me. At least it can be revived, recharged.

I really enjoyed the book. Finished it recently.

Huckleberry’s cat food bag says that it is made with “farm raised” chicken. Interesting choice of adjective. What other kind of chicken is there? Feral chicken? Pet chicken? Retired circus chicken?

I completed this quilt top yesterday, made out of scraps from my late brother's flannel shirts. I used no rules and let everything come together organically, jaggedly.

The Wisconsin Dragonfly annual meeting & Field Trip - Aug 23 & 24, Fifield, Movrich Community Park Pavillion. Fifield was chosen because in late August there is a good chance of finding some beautiful darner species in the vicinity, such as Canada, Lake, Mottled, Subarctic, and Variable.

I just finished reading Sy Montgomery's Soul of an Octopus, and in it she tells how she had wanted to make octopus plural as octopi, but this is incorrect because it's Greek, not Latin. The proper plural is octopuses. Sorry for the mini spoiler on the NYT puzzle. #nytpuzzle #nytcrossword

All your favorites, whenever you want. That's what my local PBS station just said my support gets me with PBS Passport. But few of the shows I want to watch are actually available, so this is not true. I support PBS & NPR, but am disappointed in this promise.
