Good plan, good plan

Played a simple little roll and write game called "Welcome to..." Where you assign house numbers to houses, build fences, etc. I did badly in both games (I did score better in game 2) which we played in an hour including rules explaining. Good game.

Having just seen what Barbara Stanwyck looks like she really reminds me of Carolyn Jones.

Final game of the day was a German game about elections called Die Macher. I decided to go all in on the theme and started collecting all the bribes. Sadly I did not win, but did not come in last, so I've got that going for me. My adult child also played and did better than me but also did not win

Thought I was going to win Stagecraft and did have the points lead heading into the final scoring portion. This is where I got destroyed by the person sitting next to me who spent the entire game talking about how much they were losing. Ah well, thems the breaks with that style of game.

Did not win standard Flapjacks and Sasquatches. But I did win the game of Flapjacks and Sasquatches The Dice Game. Woohoo!

Next up, an unpublished game called Stagecraft which is a worker placement game about running a community theater.

Today at @conofthenorth.bsky.social I started my day in registration, now I'm about to play Flapjacks and Sasquatches.

Second game

Got more exploration before the haunt. Had a few players get killed by the traitor's cultists, but we managed to take them out in the end.

Yesterday I got in one game in the middle of my day of volunteering at @conofthenorth.bsky.social .

Betrayal at House in the Hill

First game went super fast, got the haunt after 6-7 explored rooms. Thankfully for the non-traitors, we just had to close some portals and the traitor wasn't buff.

I also now have a flashy purple STAFF vest.

Now that the vendor hall is open @conofthenorth.bsky.social my guard duty is done. I have moved posts from the vendor hall to the second floor where I will dispense information (and maybe quests if you've fulfilled all the prerequisites).

The episode already had a BIG small scale event happen. We didn't need to dilute it with a large scale background event. I think the ep would have been improved with treating the BIG event with the gravitas it deserved.

I have watched Starfleet Academy e6.

It was fine, except that they couldn't resist the whole tv trend of having a season long arc and dipping their toe in it periodically.

Not all shows need background arcs. In the case of this particular episode it's a hat on a hat.

I was thinking the same kind of thing. I would have been happier with the story if the writers had had Sisko return occasionally but Jake and Cassidy had kept it secret because Sisko was done with "saving the universe" and wanted to keep his promise to them.

I still liked the story they told.
