Your writing process will change on a daily basis with every project, because every project is different. Whatever gets you to the final product is the way that that book needed to be written.

A large ocean wave is about to overtake a bedraggled man in a weathered rowboat. He looks distressed about this, knowing he's not going to be able to get clear of the wave in time.

The Flame Nebula

Libraries feel like something about which we could very easily be saying, “Remember that place where you could borrow books, for FREE, and return them when you were finished?” And kids would say “What?? No way!” And yet there they still are, despite everything we’ve become, existing. Remarkable.

This morning I went to Sonic and got a dr pepper and tater tots. On the way home the tater tots fell all over the passenger side of my car and when I tried to save them I crushed my drink cup! So I then had dr pepper and tater tots all over my car.🤦‍♀️

My daughter had to write five recipes cards for her English class and she said that her teacher copied my "soy steak" recipe that is a personal creation of mine! It's the little things that bring me joy! #recipes #cooking #joy

I'm hyper critical of museums because I work so closely with them, but as spaces where you can go and literally just 'hang out' with ancient history they truly are unique.

Feeling down?
Go sit next to an old pot/fossil/painting.
It won't necessarily solve anything but it's still very grounding.

This is how you become a writer: just pick one of the things that is deeply wrong with you. Make it a character. Now send it on a self-help journey or try to kill it. Now call it a book.
