Might be a bit of an exciting night with my blood sugars, too. The ketones have gone down again, at least, and hopefully I've calculated the right correction dose of insulin.

I should ask her some time! She's in hospital right now, she's had an unbelievably rough year. But with the baby I think it may be due to being born at 29 weeks.

I'm OK, the fantastic paramedic reckons it's muscular. Probably set off by having a nasty hypo on Saturday and being crashy since. I've got a list of things to look out for, a printout of my ECG (long QT again, gah), I'll go to hospital if it gets worrying, and call my GP tomorrow.

I can't say I've tried cannibalism for RLS, now you mention it.

I got sudden chest pain after going downstairs during a phone call, and I feel rubbish, so I'm waiting for an ambulance. Gah. Hopefully nothing. My heart rate and blood pressure are high.

She's absolutely Deaf! Her daughter is hearing, and her baby is looking like he may be Deaf as well. She has cochlear implants but often turns them off.

My family Christmases were so miserable I've avoided Christmas ever since. While I don't particularly have food aversions, I got a lot of hassle for being vegetarian and never having the slightest desire to drink alcohol, both of which are more common amongst autistics. It was so miserable.

ABK: All comedy is subjective. I wish it were true that "punching down isn't comedy, it's bullying", but it's clearly very funny to the bully. We should be honest that the reason we don't like it is an ethical reason.

Or for those of us who simply don't want alcohol. I've never fancied it in my life. My family always tried to bully me into drinking, which is even worse since it's before I fled for the hills at eighteen.

Don't grill someone on why they don't want it, either.

- comment on their special diet
- try to convert them to your special diet
- comment on what medication they need to eat
- give them incorrect info about what's in the food, which can be life or death to some of us

God, I'm glad I didn't become diabetic until after I was estranged from my family.

Nah, I've never known a situation where those comments are acceptable.

She works as an interpreter, incidentally. I'm trying to remember whether she identifies as disabled due to other medical conditions. It's all complex, and the language options are often inadequate.

God, if a friend offered to do some cleaning, and with proper covid mitigations, I'd be thrilled to bits.

I'm both disabled and neurodivergent, and usually say "visual problems" as that one is complicated. It's not bad enough for visual impairment, but I can't read paper books, that sort of thing.

I'm still learning about the nuances of D/deaf politics! I recently asked a friend which she uses, and she said, "Eh, both, I'm not really bothered."
